Keith Meek, professional skateboarder, surfer and punk rocker, grew up in Northern California. Professional for Santa Cruz Skateboards, he has arguably one of skateboarding's most iconic graphics, the Slasher. The idea for the Slasher came from Jim Phillips Sr. It was originally a flyer for a WSA amateur surfing contest, but the people running that contest thought it was too thrash or something, so it sat on Jim's shelf for a while. It was then offered to Steve Olson for his S.O.S. line that NHS was producing at the time but Steve didn't feel it more than that... Finally and fortunately, it landed with Keith!
