About Erick Winkowski

Fortunately for us, many forms of skateboarding today incorporate style and creativity. Skateboarding is celebrated from the streets to the vert ramps, on popsicle decks and on 'old-school' boards in every shape imaginable. The latter happens to be where rippers like Erick Winkowski excel.

Erick Winkowski, also known as @8ballr on Instagram, is simply in a different league of modern skateboarding.

Erick is difficult to classify as a street or transition skater. If you watch almost any Winkowski video part, you'll see him grinding massive handrails and flipping over massive sets and gaps, but there's a good chance you'll also see him doing inverts in a pool. Did we mention that the majority of his skating is done on classic 1980s board shapes? Imagine doing a front shuv or back 360 down a massive set on a completely flat nosed board.

If there is one word to describe Erick, it is skateboarder.

Erick is from San Diego, but according to his sponsors, he is very close to the NHS Fun Factory crew in Santa Cruz, California. NHS brands such as Santa Cruz, Independent, OJ Wheels, Mob, and Bronson are among his sponsors.

Erick is a humble dude who is passionate about everything he skates and has respect for the early years of skateboarding. Watch his visit to the NHS warehouse, where he talks about some of his favorite products and graphics!

While Erick is known for skating many classic old-school decks, such as Eric Dressen's pro model and the iconic screaming hand, he now has a few pro models of his own that are making history. The Winkowski 'Dope Planet' model is arguably one of the most sought-after Santa Cruz decks today.

At boardary, we're oviously big fan of Erick and his skating . Erick Winkowski pro model gear is currently in stock, ranging from Santa Cruz cruiser completes to his pro model OJ Wheels.
